Welcome!

This is a private wiki for studying and participating in collaborative innovation and invention, and for sharing, developing, and protecting good ideas that might eventually be patented or commercialized.

Here are a few things to keep in mind.

RIT's intellectual property policy gives students rights to their own inventions under most circumstances (see http://finweb.rit.edu/grms/tlo/internal/).

Premature disclosure of potentially patentable ideas or proprietary information beyond the confines of this wiki could make it difficult or impossible for you, or us, or RIT, to eventually patent or commercialize our ideas and inventions.

We are working on an Intellectual Property Policy that will encourage and promote the creation and development of new, useful, and potentially valuable ideas through creative multidisciplinary collaboration. But that policy hasn't been written or negotiated yet.

Should you judge that the risk of losing your own ideas or expressions outweighs the benefits of collaborative learning and invention, you are encouraged to assert ownership claims, to simply refrain from recording those ideas or expressions here at all, or to seek legal counsel.
